On 25 May 2018 the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) became effective. This means that from that date onwards, the same privacy legislation applies throughout the European Union (EU).
The GDPR strengthens the position of the people whose data is processed. They receive new privacy rights and their existing rights become stronger. Organisations that process and store personal data are given more obligations. The emphasis is on the responsibility of organisations to be able to demonstrate that they comply to the GDPR.
The training highlights the key aspects of the GDPR. For example awareness, privacy impact assessment, rights of those involved, records of processing activities, reporting data breaches, measures, processor agreements and the rights of data subjects.
